A. Admission to the Library
1. ID Card
Every library patron must wear his/her ID card before entering the library.
2. Library Card
The library card will be issued along with the school ID.
The library card is non-transferable. The use of someone else’s library card to be able to avail of library privileges is strictly prohibited. Replacement of a lost library card can be issued after the payment of Php 80.00 to the Cashier’s Office.
3. Library Guidelines/Policies
1. Since the library is an open shelf system therefore, students must have to left on the table their bags, umbrellas, folders, envelops, briefcases and other bulky things before entering the circulation and reference section.
2. Stealing/mutilation of books is strictly prohibited. So that the rights of others may be protected, readers who underline words, deface, write, cut or otherwise steal or mutilate a book will be assessed the full cost involved in replacing the damages or stolen book and/or suspended or denied to use the library facilities for a certain period or even for the rest of the term.
3. When borrowing books, present your library card and fill-in the necessary information in the logbook and book card.
4. Books for overnight use are to be issued from 3:00 to 4:45 pm only and to be returned the following day the library is open not later than 9:00 am, otherwise, overdue fine (Php5/book/hour) will be charged.
5. Faculty members and personnel of the University who are enrolled in the Graduate School have the same borrowing privileges like those of the regular undergraduate students.
6. Faculty members who bring their students in the library must seek permission from the campus librarian two days before the scheduled time.
7. All personnel members are given the privilege to avail of the services of the library.
C. How Books are circulated?
1. Every library patron is free to browse books from the shelves because the library uses an open shelf system.
2. Reserved books are for room use only. Logbook is provided and I.D. is required for the monitoring.
3. Theses and dissertations, faculty and student researchers are for room use only and are not allowed to be photoduplicated.
D. Who May Avail of the Services of the Library?
1. CSUan Students
2. CSUan Faculty/ Employees
3. CSUan Officials
4. CSUan Alumni
5. Other Researchers: subject to approval
E. Loaning Privileges
1. Undergraduate student may borrow 2 books at a time for inside reading and 1 book for overnight use and one fiction for a period of three days.
2. Graduate students may borrow 1 book for a period of one (1) week; however, books which are in demand can be borrowed for overnight only.
3. Administrators may borrow 5 books at a time within one semester and one fiction for a period of one week only.
4. Faculty members can borrow 10 books for one semester which will be used in the preparation of their lessons. They can also borrow 1 fiction book within 1 week.
a. Books which are generally intended for a particular class can be requested to be reserved in a particular section for a period of 1 semester after which the book/s will be returned to the shelves.
b. Lost book/s should be replaced with the same title, author, and edition.
c. Periodicals of any kind, loose or bound, clippings and pamphlets are for room use only. However, these materials can be taken out from the library to be used as an instructional material, but should be returned immediately after the class.
F. How to borrow books?
a. Photo Duplication
1. Consult the card catalog. If difficulties arise, seek the services of any member of the Library staff on duty.
2. Fill up the call slips the call number, author and title of the desired book.
3. Locate the material in the shelves.
4. Present the material together with your ID and Library Card to the section in-charge at the circulation counter.
5. Fill-up the photo duplication logbook and book card. Leave your ID.
6. All books to be borrowed for room use or photo duplication must be properly processed at the circulation counter. Users who would like to photo duplicate a book are given 30 minute’s grace period after which, an overdue fine will be charged.
b. Overnight Use
1. Consult the card catalog. If difficulties arise, seek the services of any member of the Library staff on duty.
2. Fill up the call slip with the call number, author and title of the desired book.
3. Locate the material in the shelve.
4. Present the material together with your ID and borrower’s card to the section in-charge at the circulation counter.
5. Fill-up the overnight logbook and book card.
G. How to Return Books
Present the book to the section in-charge at the circulation counter. Books borrowed for overnight use must be returned on or before 9am the following day. Failure to return book/s materials on or before due date will subject students to pay Php 5.00 per hour per book. Faculty who borrowed books should return it on or before the next semester/summer period starts.
H. Lost Books
Lost book/s must be reported immediately to any library staff to avoid accumulated fine. A lost book must be replaced with the same author, title and edition. A processing fee of 10% of such cost and accumulated fines are charged for lost books and accumulated fines for replaced books. Any borrowed material found with missing pages must be presented immediately to the librarians for proper action.
I. Fines
Overdue materials are charged. Overdue fine for overnight loan books and/or Fiction Php 5.00 per book per hour. Sundays and holidays are excluded from the computation of overdue fines.
J. In Using the E-LIB
A student should first give his/her library card to the librarian or any of the library staff on duty for his/her to record it at the E-Lib logbook.
A student is allowed for 1 hour a day to use the E-Lib. Printing of the research information is also available.
